Many of us are relatively fortunate. We probably haven’t had our lives affected by gross trauma. We might not have been subjected to gross poverty, war, violence, alcoholism or drugs, etc. But could we somehow still have been traumatized and not even realize this? PAST TRAUMA IS AN ADDITIONAL CHALLENGE TO OVERCOME! There is an ongoing stress that follows a traumatic life-event. It’s not just the event itself. The resultant subconscious memories can be considerable. These ar
Our lives seem to lack direction! We just don’t understand the meaning & purpose of our life. So, we can wander aimlessly. We get trapped in the material world, with its temporary pleasures & tempting distractions. Is it just about competition & survival of the fittest? CONTEMPLATE THE TRUE PURPOSE OF YOUR LIFE! The discussion below is an opportunity for you to START this important INNER process. Seeking your true purpose is an important part of personal development and your
Part (a) Facing our traumas Think back on your own life; right back to your earliest memories. How has it really been? HOW HAS IT REALLY FELT?... Often, we feel alone, vulnerable & insecure. We might feel totally out of place! It’s as if we don’t belong in our birth family, or even on this planet! We’ve probably also had some traumatic life events, or perceived some experiences as being quite distressing. We might feel wounded and needing to compensate or defend our self i
We seem to be made of solid matter! Our skin, tissues & bones all seem separate or solid. But we know from science & conventional atomic theory that this ‘solid matter’ is mostly ‘space’. Atoms & subatomic particles take up less than 1% of that space. But is that spare space really empty and made of nothing? The answer could be so simple, so elegant and so profound. If some maverick scientists are right, this will radically change the way we view everything! Not only in the w
We are NOT that outer facade or ‘mask’ we wear. We are not just our social conditioning! We don’t need to remain wounded & skewed by past traumas. WE CAN BREAK FREE OF ALL THAT MIND CONTROL! We have the right to choose happiness! We have the right to be permanently happy! Each of us is a unique and precious individual. We each have deep inner needs and a unique life purpose. Only by discovering this special purpose and exploring our potential will we find contentment & fulfi
When we really look within, we usually find we’re still unhappy and unfulfilled. We are not at peace with ourselves! There is a subtle but pervasive emptiness and lack of contentment. What then should we do? WE NEED TO BREAK FREE from our past traumas & conditioning TO CHANGE OURSELVES. But maybe we’re not yet fully committed! Our conventional ego mind might perceive changing ourselves to be difficult or risky. This is the next life lesson (No.64): BREAKING FREE FROM OUR PAST
Let’s start with life lesson No. 53: INNER SELF-DEVELOPMENT BENEFITS OURSELVES & OTHERS. We as individuals and a Humanity, benefit from personal growth. The masters, gurus & experts agree. One doesn’t need to be fully trained or ‘enlightened’ to start receiving these benefits or to help others. We also energetically contribute to the collective of Human Consciousness. This happens automatically, each adding their own capacity for good or evil. So the more positive growth fro
LET’S START WITH A WARNING… Some people have an initial Realization then rush off and make dramatic or even drastic changes to their lives. There are stories of people who, after a life-crisis, completely change their job, their lifestyle and even their relationships. They make a complete ‘sea change’: For example, a merchant banker or top executive who now seems content to run a small hobby farm or simply to meditate in nature. Some move to a commune or adopt some ‘altern
We miss out on so much in life… because we attach or ‘grasp too tightly’. We become ‘attached’ in some way to people or material things. We have become habituated or addicted to living this way. We have become ‘addicted to life!’ Background information on this theme is available in Part 1 and Part 2 of this blog. In Part 3 we now continue a discussion of ‘what we miss out on’ and why we miss out? WE CHOOSE TO POSSESS OR ‘HAVE THINGS’, RATHER THAN ‘JUST BE’ OUR TRUE SELF.
What is it that sustains and drives YOU? Is it an addictive tendency? Are you driven to success or to distraction? We have become so addicted… so dependent on living the same way.
We have become our habits… and our habit is so hard to break! Are you living a lie? Can you break the habit? INSTEAD OF BEING DEPENDENT ON OUR LIFE FOR THE SOURCE OF OUR MEANING... WE SHOULD EXPRESS OUR MEANING THROUGH THE WAY WE LIVE OUR LIFE.
Let’s start with THE BACKGROUND on how this all begin
In the previous blog post we posed the profound question ‘Who am I?’. We invited you to deeply contemplate this dilemma. We postulated that ANY highly intelligent & conscious entity, however large or small, would eventually ask this same question. It would seek to understand its origins. The largest such Intelligent Awareness that we could potentially envision is the entire Cosmos or ‘All that is.’ This is sometimes termed ‘Cosmic Consciousness’ or ‘Universal Consciousness'.
