How do we break free from the limitation of our current lives? What knowledge do we need for this? What information is critical for achieving optimal well-being and reaching our potential? What would help an individual to change themselves in this way? This is what we address next.
THREE KEYS TO CHANGING OUR BEHAVIOUR.
We can initiate such change after a crisis, or at any time we feel motivated or inspired to do so. We simply proceed at our own pace.
POTENTIALLY LIFE TRANSFORMING!
Transformative knowledge should be highly valued! Why isn’t this more sought after by the average person? Is it just too hard to find? Or is it too complex? No, it is surprisingly apparent & simple! It could even be thought of as an intuitive or innate ability. But we do need to practice & master this. We need the intent to start & the will to follow through!
HAVE WE IGNORED OR DELAYED OUR QUEST?
We have usually been discouraged from developing this innate ability. This capacity was not just valued. Our society subtly dissuaded us from delving too deeply into these matters. It was dismissed as being too superficial or even too radical! So, we had to piece fragments of this knowledge together from scattered sources. That is, if we ever seriously undertook such a search. We also faced confusion or uncertainty about what ‘path’ or style of instruction was best. It usually all seemed too hard; so, too often we just gave up. So, we missed out!
AN INNER YEARNING!
Deep within us we do yearn for the inner peace, contentment & fulfillment that this Endeavor would bring. We still want to satisfy these inner needs & desires. But we’re not sure how best to start. How to optimize our talents & abilities? How to achieve our full potential? The following discussion should help.
3 KEY CONCEPTS TO CONSIDER ON OUR QUEST.
These ‘3 KEYS’ can help us escape the prison of our mind? This escape to freedom is a simple analogy we could use. These keys unlock those metaphorical ‘prison doors’ that have held us back for so long. Together they constitute AN ESCAPE STRATEGY that we could use. Using this strategy, we can BREAK FREE from our old ways!
These ‘keys’ are also something we can continue to use further along the way. Metaphorically they will also help open some other additional doors or gates on our journey. Symbolically, taking these ‘keys’ along with us reminds us that WE HOLD LIBERATION IN OUR OWN HANDS. But we must make the effort to use them!
THE FIRST KEY:
UNDERSTAND THAT LONG-LASTING HAPPINESS CAN ONLY COME FROM WITHIN US!
First we need to understand this concept. Then ideally, we need to deeply incorporate this understanding or ‘knowing’ beyond the intellectual understanding? Having this deep realization will profoundly motivate & sustains us in our inner quest. That would really be transformative! Let’s explore this first ‘Key Principle’ to help understand it better.
Lasting happiness NEVER comes from the outer or MATERIAL world! What we get instead from the external world is just ‘temporary pleasure’.
Material rewards only bring transient relief: a temporary respite. We quickly adapt to them and often crave more of the same. They can become addictive.
Permanent happiness includes feelings of joy, inner peace & fulfillment. These come from cultivating beneficial perceptions & perspectives. This is purely ‘an inside job’. We do this internally, using our thoughts & our mind. We just change our thinking!
The ‘first key’ invites us to OPTIMIZE our INTERNAL ENVIRONMENT. This generates lasting happiness!

WE ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR OUR OWN HAPPINESS.
Understanding this directly puts the onus on us! It encourages us to explore how we might do this. To make more effort or action in this regard.
Metaphorically it’s like a reminder to use ‘a key’ properly & fully. Sometimes we may need to exert a little more action or effort. Just like an additional turn of the key is necessary to open some dead locks.
We are also SOLELY responsible for our OWN happiness! Even if we deny or doubt this possibility. Even if we don’t know how to do this! It’s a ‘wakeup call’. It’s sometimes a tough reality to face! Consider contemplating this. Let this truth sink in for a while! Will this change your attitude or what you do?
